I’ve put this mitt through cast iron skillet duty all week and the 450°F rating is no joke—my knuckles stay cool even when the handle’s screaming hot. The Pyrotex fabric still looks new after a couple of washes, which is more than I can say for my old cotton gloves.
Finally, an oven mitt that actually handles my cast iron skillet at full blast without me flinching. The outer fabric hasn't scorched once, even after pulling a 450°F pan out for a sear. I've already tossed it in the wash twice and it comes out looking brand new.
Finally, a mitt that doesn't go stiff and crusty after a few washes — tossed it in the machine twice since I got it and it still flexes perfectly. Grabbed a screaming-hot cast iron skillet straight from the oven and felt zero heat through the thick Pyrotex fabric, even past the 450° mark.
